In Australia a sustainable supply of nuclear medicines is produced by ANSTO's nuclear research reactor but this is not the same situation experienced across the world.

In Canada the Ottowa Citizen has reported on the affects the shutdown of a nuclear research reactor can have.

The Citizen has reported the costs of nuclear medicines are skyrocketing in Canada because of the shutdown of isotope production at the National Research Universal reactor.
